Burbio’s mission is to provide easy access to community events. Burbio aggregates calendars for each community and allows users to customize their experience by following and syncing to the community organizations and events within that interest them.
After developing their web site and back end, Burbio received a seed investment from the Hudson Valley Startup Fund. They needed mobile apps for their customers, but it didn’t make sense to hire a full time mobile team to build a relatively basic app.

As with many startups, Burbio faced the challenge of developing a high quality mobile app but still keeping within a tight budget. Our goal at Hudson Valley Apps is to work within any budget, so this was a perfect fit for us.
Mobile product management expertise
In order to get the scope within Burbio’s budget, our first step was to reduce the scope of the project down to the core user experience. We worked with CEO Julie Roche to understand Burbio’s highest priority features. We provided estimates at a feature level so that she could make business-level decisions about what would be able to fit into the app given her budget. We removed any features that might be risky and drive up the cost. We also minimized custom design and leveraged the native user interface on each platform.

Once the scope was set, we began development. We were able to develop the app on time, within Burbio’s budget, and with high quality.
We continue to maintain Burbio’s Android and iOS apps.
